NOMINATED FOR THE ANNUAL
NORWEGIAN TV INDUSTRY AWARD
‘GULLRUTEN’ (‘GOLDEN SCREEN’)
“THE FIRST YEARS” IS ABOUT A GROUP OF KIDS AND THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL ENTAILING FUNNY EPISODES, CONFLICTS, DILEMMAS, ETC.
Viewers will recognize themselves, their struggles, and their friends’ everyday problems within this series. Drama, of course, abounds; from “Queen of the Class” competitions, to attempts at “hijacking the handsomest,” to the copious and all-too-common jealousy that arises when new friendships are formed.
Justification for category:
This series was entered in the category as this year’s innovation. It is a drama series that is produced based on popular demand.
More importantly, however, it is one that creates authentic Norwegian content for a harder-to-reach viewer group already overwhelmed with new daily content from other channels (like Youtube).
The series deals with two serious topics that engage the audience; love and exclusion. It also illuminates lighter topics with an abundance of warmth and humor.
Unfortunately, ‘The First Years’ did not win the award – but we are all super proud of the nomination.
Thanks to all participants, and to NRK Super.
